Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Kitchen towel or paper towels
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • pounds potatoes about 700 g
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly, then cut them into 1-inch cubes.
  • Place potato cubes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil until evenly coated.
  • Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the bowl and mix until all cubes are coated with seasoning.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 2-3 minutes.
  • Place potato cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd.
  • Cook for 10 minutes, then shake the basket or flip the potatoes with tongs.
  • Continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes until potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  • Check for doneness by piercing with a fork – it should slide in easily.
  • Transfer to a serving dish and add any optional toppings like parmesan or fresh herbs.

Notes

  • Choose the right potatoes: Russet or Yukon Gold work best for crispy outsides and soft insides.
  • Soak if you can: Soaking cut potatoes in cold water for 20-30 minutes removes starch and helps them crisp up.
  • Shake or flip: Shake the basket or turn the potatoes halfway through cooking for even browning.
