- 1½ pounds potatoes about 700 g
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
Wash and dry potatoes thoroughly, then cut them into 1-inch cubes.
Place potato cubes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil until evenly coated.
Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the bowl and mix until all cubes are coated with seasoning.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 2-3 minutes.
Place potato cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd.
Cook for 10 minutes, then shake the basket or flip the potatoes with tongs.
Continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes until potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
Check for doneness by piercing with a fork – it should slide in easily.
Transfer to a serving dish and add any optional toppings like parmesan or fresh herbs.
-
Choose the right potatoes: Russet or Yukon Gold work best for crispy outsides and soft insides.
-
Soak if you can: Soaking cut potatoes in cold water for 20-30 minutes removes starch and helps them crisp up.
-
Shake or flip: Shake the basket or turn the potatoes halfway through cooking for even browning.
