Equipment

  • Microwave

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • ½ lemon juice and zest
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
  • Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, and Dijon mustard to the melted butter.
  • Whisk the mixture well until it’s smooth and creamy.
  • Stir in the chopped parsley, chives, thyme, paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper.
  • Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust any seasoning if needed.
  • Pour the sauce into a small bowl for dipping.
  • Serve warm with your favorite grilled meats, seafood, or veggies.
  • Enjoy right away, or keep warm until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less cayenne and red pepper flakes.
  • If you don’t have fresh herbs, dried herbs can work—use about one-third the amount.
  • This sauce is best served warm but can be enjoyed at room temperature too.
  • Try it as a dip, a topping for grilled meats, or a sauce for roasted veggies.
